
Toronto,ON: Chad Bewley is a former high performance basketball player turned university and college coach. Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Chad began his collegiate career at York University where he earned a BA in Philosophy and Humber College where he earned a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion at Humber College. After transferring to Humber, Chad helped the Hawks to a 32-4 (.889) regular season record and won the program’s sixth national championship in 2015. In two seasons Chad was named Captain, a 2x Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA) Allstar, and a National Champion. Following his collegiate career, Chad went on to play professional basketball in Australia, China, El Salvador and Spain.

Chad began and continued his coaching career while he was playing in college and professionally. Chad served as an Assistant Coach for his former teams, York University (2012-2013) and Humber College (2017-2020), where he was awarded the Coaching Excellence Award as JV Head Coach. Chad is also recognized as an elite skills trainer and has coached for a number of youth basketball teams and academies including Bill Crothers S.S (Junior), RWI Kings (U19), and Elite Camps. Most recently, Bewley served as a Development Coach with Canada Basketball’s Senior Men’s National Team, while continually keeping his game up by playing in local leagues and tournaments. Chad is also the founder of Synergy, a Men’s Basketball League hosted in the Greater Toronto Area.



This is a great situation for me to be in as a young Head Coach, and it means a lot to be a part of a Georgian program I can grow with. I’ve received a lot of support so far from the Athletics Department and I am eager to get on the court with our guys this year.
